I am an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Texas Tech University. My research centers on comparative and Latin American politics. My main areas of interest are democracy, political institutions, and executive politics and policymaking, but I am also interested in gender and public opinion.

Prior to joining Texas Tech, I was an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Kansas State University. I received my Ph.D. and M.A. in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a B.A. from Union College in Schenectady, NY. I am originally from Syracuse, NY.
